Another Plum of a Week for Patrons of Broadway Theatre to Pick
Weekly Broadway Ticket Sales Report

Legally Blonde joined the ranks of No. six on the list of highest grossing productions on Broadway this past week with $1,006,075 and 89% capacity. The others in order were: Wicked $1,480,955 at 100% capacity; The Lion King $1,311,914 at 100%; Mary Poppins $1,223,430 at 100%; Jersey Boys $1,21,550 at 100%; and Beauty and the Beast $1,041,283 at 100% capacity.
Broadway’s ticket sales logged in at $19,838,011 this past week, improved over the previous week’s report of $18,697,151, an increase of 10.2% compared to the same time last season with an overall 10.6% increase in attendance.
Looking at the capacity of all Broadway theatres, they were filled to 90.13% this past week. Once again, Deuce was the only production struggling with just $165,085 in ticket sales and achieving only 40% of its capacity. . .

BROADWAY SHOWS OPENING THIS FALL:
Mauritius will open to its first preview September 13 at the Biltmore Theatre and open on Oct. 4.
CLOSING SHOWS:
Tony Award winning Grey Gardens, 110 In the Shade, and Beauty and the Beast closed on Sunday, July 29.
